About the position

The Technology Services - Risk and Finance Senior Data Analyst at Citizens is responsible for collaborating with internal clients to define and document business requirements. This role involves utilizing proprietary software to analyze and design technical solutions for data compilation, loading, and reporting. The analyst will play a crucial role in interpreting business needs, identifying data gaps, and providing support to development teams, ensuring clarity in mapping documentation and data requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal clients to understand, define, and document business requirements.
  • Utilize proprietary software to analyze and design technical solutions for data compilation, loading, and reporting.
  • Interpret and translate business requirements into data requirements and link them to mapping lineage documents.
  • Identify data gaps between internal client needs and available information in the reporting data mart or data warehouse.
  • Profile big data sources using SQL across various product 'Systems of Record' to address data requirement gaps.
  • Lead discussions with team members to determine the best data source options and requirements gapping.
  • Generate and document pseudo logic for deriving data attributes from existing base data elements.
  • Provide instruction and ongoing support to developer/programmer resources for clear mapping documentation.
  • Generate complex data queries for testing and validation checks to assist developers with production code migrations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience as a Business Analyst in a large data environment.
  • Strong analytical and systemic thinking, problem-solving, and SQL skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Proven technical documentation skills using MS Office 365 Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Desire to learn emerging methods and technologies in logical mapping design and development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS Redshift, S3, Python, Oracle, SAS.
  • Working knowledge of DBeaver, Athena, Aqua Data Studio, or comparable query tools.
