About the position

The Senior Data Analyst in the Cyber Security Risk Management department at Community Health Systems is responsible for identifying, curating, publishing, and visualizing data to support cybersecurity initiatives. This role requires strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of data warehousing, and the ability to interpret complex datasets. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to create meaningful data visualizations and reports, ensuring data quality and relevance to business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical consultation on data product projects by analyzing end-to-end data product requirements and existing business processes.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements for visualizations using a Design Thinking approach.
  • Defines metrics and cultivates data sources to support reporting insights aligned to business goals.
  • Creates dashboards and interactive visualizations for user exploration of data.
  • Develops complex SQL queries to transform raw data into datasets for metrics and analytical functions.
  • Provides training and support to end-users on interpreting and interacting with data visualizations.
  • Produces data views, models, and flows for various client demands including reporting and data science research.
  • Translates business data stories into technical breakdowns and work estimates for project scheduling.
  • Collaborates with enterprise teams on CI/CD best practices using tools like JIRA and Jenkins.
  • Implements processes to monitor data quality, ensuring accuracy and availability of production data.
  • Practices code management and integration with engineering Git repositories.
  • Participates in team tasks for data analysis, architecture, application design, coding, and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cyber security, business, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing compelling stories and visualizations.
  • 3+ years of experience with data quality rules and data management standards.
  • 4+ years of SQL experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with dashboarding/BI tools (Looker Studio, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience in statistical analysis, data models, data warehousing, and queries.
  • Good problem-solving, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of graphic design or UI design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Healthcare/Insurance/financial services industry knowledge.
  • Experience in Cyber Security.
  • Proficiency in Python, Javascript, CSS, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with Looker Studio / Google Data Studio and BigQuery.
