About the position

The Senior Data Analyst position at Modis involves working closely with business units and technical teams to understand and represent business requirements for data analysis and quality. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex problems, ensuring that data warehouse solutions meet business needs and service-level agreements. The ideal candidate will have a blend of business acumen and technical expertise, facilitating effective communication between stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, understand, interpret, and represent business requirements for data, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance.
• Act as the conduit between the customer and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood.
• Work with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Validate that the data warehouse meets requirements and service-level agreements.
• Act in an advisory capacity in data model reviews, architecture approach, and solution design to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Partner with management and business units on innovative ways to utilize data and related tools to advance business objectives.

Requirements

• 7+ years' experience working as a BI analyst or data analyst leveraging BI tools in a centralized data warehouse environment.
• 7+ years hands-on experience working with SQL with an understanding of different data structures.
• 3+ years' experience with data modeling concepts and techniques.
• Proven experience on projects involving data integration, data cleansing, and data conversion activities.
• Experience working with Cognos v.8.x or higher or similar BI tool.
• Experience working with Teradata Data Warehouse or other RDMS.
