About the position

VTG is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the Navy at the Washington DC Navy Yard. This role involves providing timely professional action officer and metrics support services to Flag Officers, Executive Directors, and SEA 21M. The position requires a metrics and analytics subject matter expert (SME) to assist SEA 21M leadership with knowledge management, brief development, data analysis, and communication support, including messaging and database management. This is a hybrid role, allowing for 2-3 days of telework.

Responsibilities

• Proactively respond to short and long-term requests from SEA 21M Leadership.
• Coordinate with stakeholders within the program office to complete ship availability metrics and data actions.
• Provide quality on-time products including communication products, briefs, point papers, and analysis.
• Assess SEA 21M data and metrics to recommend improvements in data gathering, filing, controlling, and maintenance.
• Develop initiatives focusing on improved business practices and data utilization.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field of business.
• Naval surface ship experience, preferably in maintenance and surface warfare.
• 7-10 years of Navy shipboard experience and a Navy veteran.
• Strong background in data analytics, including statistical analysis and data visualization.
• Proficiency in leveraging data for decision-making and operational improvements.
• Experience with MS Suite, specifically PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel.
• Proactive customer service skills and management experience.
• Experience with Tableau.

Nice-to-haves

• 7 years of DOD Civilian/Contractor management experience, preferably with NAVSEA 21 Modernization and Maintenance.
