About the position

The Senior Data Analyst position at UnitedHealth Group involves ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of healthcare data. The role is integral to advancing a data-driven culture within Optum Health Analytics, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver business value and improve health outcomes through effective data management and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our Snowflake environment
• Create and maintain data models and schemas for various data sources and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity
• Develop and maintain automated data quality checks and data monitoring processes to identify and resolve data issues
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Perform data analysis to identify business problems and deliver value
• Problem solve and troubleshoot issues independently and as a part of a team
• Communicate updates, changes or issues to wider team and stakeholders

Requirements

• 3+ years of SQL experience, including complex queries and optimization
• 1+ years of working knowledge in Epic Clarity Database
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
• Proven problem-solving skills; the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action

Nice-to-haves

• Completion of Epic Clarity Certification
• Experience with Snowflake Platform
• Experience with Data Visualization tools e.g. Power Bi, Tableau
• Excellent research skills to find relevant data needed for a business need
• Demonstrated ability to work with ETL tools to develop, improve and maintain pipelines
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory for ETL
• Ability to work in a global, cross team collaboration to deliver quality results
