About the position

The Senior Data Analyst (Research Analyst 3) at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) will manage and coordinate data analysis projects for the Drinking Water Services (DWS) program. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and displaying data to evaluate water quality and assess the status of disadvantaged communities in Oregon. The analyst will create customized queries and reports, enhance database management systems, and support drinking water education and outreach initiatives. This position is integral to promoting health equity and improving public health outcomes through data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate data analysis projects for Drinking Water Services (DWS).
  • Collect, analyze, and display data to evaluate water quality and community statuses.
  • Create customized queries and reports using data from various sources.
  • Enhance existing database management systems to support information sharing.
  • Design and implement data analysis projects to benefit drinking water education and outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and one year of relevant experience; or four years of research experience using computerized applications for data analysis.
  • Experience using SQL and web-based tools for database management.
  • Ability to maintain and enhance online databases and data modules.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing instructional and support documentation for data management systems.
  • Ability to perform analysis to guide technical, regulatory, and budgetary decisions.
  • Experience creating queries in a relational database environment.
