About the position

As a Senior Data Analyst at Zynga Poker, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data science and analytics to enhance player engagement, retention, and revenue. You will collaborate with various teams to implement data-driven strategies that improve the player experience and optimize game performance. This position is part of a high-revenue franchise, focusing on innovative analytical approaches to drive business success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product team to enhance revenue, retention, and engagement metrics through A/B testing and insights analysis.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of tools and models to streamline workflows and personalize player experiences.
  • Design and develop projects within a GitHub environment.
  • Promote analytics best practices across various games and teams.
  • Engage in projects focused on modeling in-game economies, personalizing experiences, and combating fraud.
  • Proactively introduce new analytical approaches and collaborate with engineers on strategic initiatives.
  • Champion best practices in defining telemetry events, data models, and data quality governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years in data science or analytics roles.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience in data mining, data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau and version control systems such as Git is advantageous.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a keen interest in problem-solving and ownership of challenges.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of game design and player behavior analytics.
