About the position

The Senior Data Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the demand-side management teams in the delivery of residential energy efficiency programs in New Jersey. This position is part of the Operations team and requires close collaboration with a cross-functional team that includes program implementation, IT, and reporting personnel. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the regular updates and delivery of programmatic reporting and forecasting, as well as conducting data analysis to provide practical insights to the team. This role is essential for ensuring that the programs are effectively managed and that the data collected is utilized to inform decision-making processes. In this position, the Senior Data Analyst will prepare consistent, timely, and accurate reporting of portfolio and program energy savings and investments. This includes managing the monthly forecast process for energy savings, investment, and diversity spending. The analyst will be tasked with updating templates, gathering input from the program team, and performing quality assurance and quality control to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the final deliverables. Additionally, the role involves maintaining documentation on current reporting and forecasting processes and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The Senior Data Analyst will also conduct data analysis of historical programmatic data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to the program team. Responding to ad hoc data requests will be a part of the responsibilities, ensuring that the team has the necessary information to make informed decisions. Responsibilities

  • Prepare consistent, timely and accurate reporting of portfolio/program energy savings and investment, including weekly and monthly client deliverables
  • Manage the monthly forecast process for energy savings, investment, and diversity spend, including updating templates, gathering input from the program team, and performing QA/QC to ensure completeness and accuracy of the final deliverable
  • Maintain documentation on current reporting and forecasting processes
  • Recommend and implement improvements to current reporting templates, forecasting templates, and processes
  • Conduct data analysis of historical programmatic data to identify trends and provide practical insights to the program team
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related subject preferred (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education)
  • 5+ years professional experience in data analytics or related experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced MS Excel experience and skills
  • Advanced data visualization skills, including experience with PowerBI or Tableau
  • SQL and database experience
  • Experience with statistics and related software (R, SPSS, STATA, EViews, Python, SAS)
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency programs
