About the position

Baptist Health is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team in Louisville. The Senior Data Analyst will assist the Financial Systems Manager with the execution of multiple Finance/IT projects that will lead to completing the overall strategic goals of the department: accuracy, automation, standardization, and process improvement. The role will primarily focus on system and external data, architecture of data, and designs to deliver reporting to Finance Personnel and Management. This role assumes ownership of the data space and acts as a governor to ensure all Data Analysts follow best practices and department standards during development. This role performs peer reviews of code/development to ensure product development is tested and ready for production prior to migration. Additionally, this role will engage Finance Personal to ensure successful delivery and adoption of new processes and development.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Technology stack (server, schedulers, scripts, etc.) to ensure they are stable.
  • Oversee ETL framework, ensuring that all team assets are working as intended and breaks in processes are addressed timely.
  • Develop tools for automated reconciliations between external and internal data sources.
  • Primarily responsible for inventory of queries: ensuring they are documented, accurate, and scheduled appropriately.
  • Meet with Finance Users to understand requirements for new developments.
  • Develop/Own Solutions Framework to ensure best practice in design and development methodologies.
  • Provide guidance to other Data Analysts.
  • Verify all business requirements are met/accepted, review test cases, and approve development of all Data Analysts prior to migrating to production.
  • Ensure adoption of new tools.
  • Responsible for verifying and determining quality of data with characteristics of validity, accuracy, completeness, consistency, and uniformity.
  • Anticipate business change, review team assets and make adjustments/changes to processes/code to adapt/evolve to the change.
  • Analyze current processes and provide Finance personnel insight to possible improvements.
  • Provide functional training and insight to tools used in current processes.
  • Design, develop and document easily repeatable processes required for gathering data, creating relationships in data, and building data cubes.
  • Provide recommendations for new, improved procedures/processes in areas that need improvement.
  • Evaluate journal entries from external sources and automate creation from external sources with repeatable and auditable processes.
  • Understand the business case, requirements, and scope for incorporating new and improved solutions to eliminate manual processes.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Perform feasibility study and fit/gap to make determination of what automation is possible and what tools can be used.
  • Develop library of department documentation.
  • Create and maintain functional design documents, technical design documents, user guides and training guides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting.
  • Seven years' experience.
