About the position

The Data Senior Analyst at Cox Communications plays a crucial role in collaborating with business partners and stakeholders to align data strategies with organizational goals. This position focuses on developing and maintaining ETL pipelines, writing complex SQL queries, and creating data models and visualizations in PowerBI to facilitate insight-driven analysis and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to understand strategies and priorities, connecting these goals with underlying data.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects, providing thought leadership on data requirements.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data lakes or warehouses.
• Write complex SQL queries to analyze data from multiple sources and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Build consolidated tables and views to support data analytics and reporting needs.
• Develop robust data models in PowerBI for effective data visualization and interpretation.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Optimize data model performance and ensure data integrity.
• Document processes, procedures, and best practices related to data management and analysis.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain dashboards and reports in PowerBI.

Requirements

• Minimum BA/BS degree in a related discipline with 4 years of experience in a related field or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Skilled to advanced knowledge in building interactive dashboards in PowerBI and/or Tableau.
• Proven experience in developing robust data models in PowerBI.
• Experience in data cleansing and preparation for accuracy and consistency.
• Advanced SQL skills, specifically with Oracle and PL/SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement, and maintain dashboards and reports.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a history of influencing outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree with 2 years of experience in a related discipline.
• 8 years of experience developing advanced analytics solutions.
• Prior experience with data analytics in a contact center environment.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Big Data).
