About the position

The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data architecture solutions to support data management and analytics initiatives within the healthcare domain. This role requires a strong background in data architecture, database design, and data modeling, with a focus on healthcare data management. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior members, and ensure adherence to data governance and security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance data architecture solutions.
  • Define data architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models and dataflow diagrams.
  • Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from disparate sources.
  • Define data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data architecture.
  • Look for opportunities to optimize team processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in data modeling for enterprise data warehouse and data lake initiatives.
  • Experience leading projects involving data warehousing, data modeling, and data security.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Proficiency in modern data architectures and cloud services (Azure/AWS).
  • Experience with data engineering tools such as Informatica PowerCenter / IICS.
  • Understanding of entity-relationship modeling and data quality tools.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI and Tableau.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data integration technologies (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Databricks).
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, Data Vault).
