About the position

The Senior Data Architect role at GTT is a pivotal position focused on enhancing the company's data governance and analytic data modeling capabilities. Reporting directly to the Director of Data Platforms and Analytics, this role is integral to the expansion of the Data Platforms and Analytics team, which aims to increase the maturity of GTT's data governance and modeling practices. The successful candidate will leverage both technical and business expertise to develop and maintain a comprehensive Data Governance strategy that aligns with GTT's business objectives. This includes designing and documenting analytic data models that serve as a foundation for GTT's analytic practices. In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization to create a long-term data architecture strategy that promotes scalability, agility, and innovation. You will establish a robust data governance framework that includes policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and compliance. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing logical and physical data models that support business requirements, facilitate efficient data access, and promote data reuse. The Senior Data Architect will also oversee the implementation of data integration processes and technologies, ensuring seamless data flow across different systems. A key aspect of this role involves managing metadata to enable effective data discovery and lineage analysis. You will implement data quality processes to maintain data integrity and reliability, and work closely with security teams to safeguard sensitive data against unauthorized access. This position requires a deep understanding of data management principles and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language, making it essential for driving GTT's data initiatives forward.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a long-term data architecture strategy.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.
• Design and develop logical and physical data models that support business requirements.
• Oversee the design and implementation of data integration processes and technologies.
• Establish and maintain a robust metadata management system for data assets.
• Implement and monitor data quality processes and tools to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with security teams to design and implement data security measures.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and data modeling solutions.
• Experience with DAMA - DMBOK preferred.
• Deep understanding of data management principles, including data warehousing, data integration, metadata management, and data quality.
• Expertise in data modeling tools and techniques, such as ER diagrams, dimensional modeling, and data normalization.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise business language.
