About the position

This position is for a Data Architect in a private equity-backed consumer-focused company within the Financial Services sector, located in NYC. The role is pivotal in developing and implementing a comprehensive organizational data strategy that aligns with business processes, particularly as the company integrates various systems and data from its conglomerate of acquired businesses. The Data Architect will have a significant impact on revenue and business operations by ensuring optimal data management and architecture across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that aligns with business processes.
• Working with data modelers to ensure optimal data model designs and database development standards.
• Identifying internal and external data sources and creating a data management plan aligned with the organizational data strategy.
• Coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
• Managing end-to-end data architecture, including platform selection, technical architecture design, application development, testing, and implementation.
• Defining and managing the flow of data and dissemination of information within the organization.
• Integrating technical functionality to ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and security.
• Conducting continuous audits of the data management system performance and reporting any breaches or loopholes to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer/data science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture or related roles.
• Knowledge of systems development, including system development life cycle, project management approaches, and design/testing techniques.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Proficiency in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration.
• Understanding of predictive modeling, NLP, ML, and text analysis.
• Ability to implement common data management and reporting technologies, including columnar and NoSQL databases, data visualization, unstructured data, and predictive analytics.
• Skills in data mining, visualization, and machine learning.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, and Perl.
• Strong team and stakeholder collaboration skills, effective communication, and leadership qualities.
