About the position

The Senior Data Architect at TriWest Healthcare Alliance will play a pivotal role in shaping the data strategy for the organization, focusing on the design and implementation of data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts. This position is crucial for ensuring that the systems in place meet the analytical needs of business users. The Senior Data Architect will collaborate closely with project development teams and project support teams to ensure that the right architecture is implemented across multiple work streams. This role will also involve developing standards related to information management, data governance, and business intelligence, ensuring that the organization adheres to best practices in data management and utilization. In this role, the Senior Data Architect will be responsible for architecting data solutions that meet online efficiency requirements. They will act as an advisor to the Director of Data Services on data strategy and represent data services in Data Governance efforts. The architect will research, review, and recommend new technologies to enhance the organization's data capabilities. Collaboration with the Enterprise Data Architect is essential to ensure alignment of strategies, and mentoring other data architects will be a key responsibility to maintain consistency across the enterprise. The Senior Data Architect will create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for online application transactions, translating enterprise or business requirements into long-term information and data architecture solutions. They will work closely with users, business analysts, developers, database administrators, and project managers to ensure that data solutions are effectively implemented. Additionally, the architect will perform data profiling and data quality validation processes, develop and implement metadata management, data dictionary, data quality, data profiling, data security, shared data usage, and data cleansing standards. Compliance with TriWest HIPAA, privacy, and government security policies is mandatory, and regular attendance is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Architect data lake, data warehouse, and data marts to meet online efficiency requirements.
  • Act as an advisor to the Director of Data Services on data strategy.
  • Represent data services in Data Governance efforts.
  • Research, review, and recommend new technologies.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Data Architect to ensure strategies align and mentor other data architects.
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for online application transactions.
  • Translate enterprise or business requirements into long-term online information and data architecture solutions.
  • Collaborate with users, business analysts, developers, database administrators, and project managers.
  • Perform data profiling and data quality validation processes.
  • Develop and implement metadata management, data dictionary, data quality, data profiling, data security, shared data usage, and data cleansing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with TriWest HIPAA, privacy, and government security policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Warehousing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Architect.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a data-driven environment with relation to migration and conversions.
  • Minimum of 5 years ETL experience, preferably in Azure (Datafactory / Databricks).
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Architecture.
  • Minimum of 5 years ETL development, preferably SSIS.
  • Proficient with SQL Server (On-Prem and Azure Cloud).
  • Knowledge of change data capture tools (CDC).
  • Strong knowledge of data warehouse design and architecture (Kimball / Inmon).
  • Experience with ERwin, ER/Studio, or other data modeling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection tools and use cases (Encryption / Masking / De-Identification).
