The role of a Senior Data Architect is pivotal in this journey, as it involves leading the development and implementation of the Data Distribution Platform within the Data group at MarketAxess. This is a hands-on role that requires leading engineering team members and collaborating closely with other team members to propose and implement innovative solutions. The Senior Data Architect will establish and lead with meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions. Passion for technology, software engineering, quality, and addressing business problems innovatively is essential. The role also emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and learning, welcoming diverse perspectives and challenging assumptions to foster innovation and growth. In this position, the Senior Data Architect will lead a team of engineers to deliver a robust data delivery platform, applying knowledge to build applications using the latest technologies and frameworks hosted on cloud infrastructure. The architect will ensure that technology decisions align with enterprise standards and strategy, evaluate and recommend technologies for flexibility and long-term viability, and provide technical leadership to agile teams. Collaboration with peer architects to refactor business processes and improve customer experience is also a key responsibility. The role requires close work with Product/Application teams in technology evaluation, selection, recommendation, and configuration, ensuring that the solutions developed meet the strategic goals of the organization.
