The Senior Data Center Analyst at Ensono is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the operations of internal and external MVS / ZOS / VM/VSE environments. This position entails system monitoring, production batch monitoring, and ensuring workload throughput while managing batch and system task abend recovery. The analyst will work in a 12-hour shift pattern, specifically a "quad" schedule, which consists of three days on, three days off, followed by four days on and four days off. This role requires flexibility to work both nights and days, with a rotation every 16 weeks from the front half to the back half of the week. Additionally, weekend and holiday work is required as per the shift schedule, and there may be occasional travel (approximately 10%) to client sites for knowledge acquisition related to new business initiatives. In this role, the analyst will monitor and manage the MVS zSeries and VM/VSE environments to ensure that production processing aligns with the service levels and requirements agreed upon with clients. Effective communication is crucial, as the position involves a high level of interaction with both internal and external customers. The analyst will be responsible for completing daily shift turnover reports and customer checklists associated with the assigned client environment, ensuring that both written and verbal communications are clear and comprehensive. Documentation is a key aspect of this role, as the analyst must thoroughly document any deviations in the company's designated Incident Management tool, providing clear and tangible details surrounding each incident. The analyst will also be responsible for escalating any events or incidents that could impact the ability to meet service levels. Ensuring that system IPL, maintenance, and backup processes are performed according to schedule and established procedures is also a critical responsibility. The analyst must adhere to documented processing procedures for both internal and external clients and may suggest updates and improvements to the internal Operations SharePoint documentation repository. The role requires the ability to organize tasks independently and provide hands-on support as needed, along with performing additional duties as assigned by Operations management.
