About the position

The Senior Data Center Analyst at Ensono is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing system monitoring, production batch monitoring, and workload throughput within MVS/ZOS/VM/VSE environments for both internal and external clients. This position requires a high level of interaction with clients, necessitating effective and professional communication skills. The analyst will be tasked with monitoring and managing the internal and external MVS zSeries and VM/VSE environments to ensure that production processing aligns with the agreed service levels and requirements set forth by clients. The role involves completing daily shift turnover and customer checklists associated with the assigned client environment, which includes both written and verbal communication. Analysts must document any deviations using the company's designated Incident Management tool, ensuring that all incidents are clearly and tangibly detailed. Additionally, the analyst is responsible for escalating any events or incidents that could impact the ability to meet service levels. The position also requires ensuring that system IPL, maintenance, and backup processes are performed according to a predetermined schedule and established procedures. All operational changes must be documented and approved in the Change Management tool prior to implementation, with follow-ups to close completed changes with valid data. Analysts are expected to adhere to documented processing procedures and suggest updates as necessary. The role may also involve hands-on support and performing additional duties as assigned by Operations management. This position operates on a 12-hour shift schedule, with a rotation that includes nights and/or days, and requires working on weekends and holidays as per the shift schedule. Occasional travel, approximately 10%, may be required for client site visits to acquire knowledge of new business.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage internal and external MVS zSeries and VM/VSE environments to ensure production processing meets service levels.

  • Escalate events or incidents that may impact service levels.
  • Ensure system IPL, maintenance, and backup processes are performed according to schedule.
  • Document and approve all operations-related changes in the Change Management tool prior to implementation.
  • Adhere to documented processing procedures and suggest updates as needed.
  • Organize tasks to work independently and provide hands-on support as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Operations management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in IT and system monitoring.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Designing skills.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to represent Ensono professionally to clients.
  • Knowledge of mainframe (TSO, SDSF, TMS, QuickRef) and server scripts.
