About the position

The Senior Data Center Analyst at Ensono is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the operations of MVS, ZOS, VM, and VSE environments. This position entails system monitoring, production batch monitoring, and ensuring workload throughput while managing batch and system task abend recovery for both internal and external clients. The analyst will work in a 12-hour shift pattern, specifically a 'quad' schedule, which consists of three days on, three days off, followed by four days on and four days off. This role requires flexibility to work nights and/or days, with a 16-week rotation from the front half to the back half of the week. Additionally, weekend and holiday work is required as per the shift schedule, and occasional travel (approximately 10%) may be necessary for client site visits to acquire knowledge of new business operations. In this role, the Senior Data Center Analyst will monitor and manage the internal and external MVS zSeries and VM/VSE environments to ensure that production processing aligns with the service levels and requirements agreed upon with clients. The position demands a high level of interaction with both internal and external customers, necessitating effective and professional communication skills. Daily responsibilities include completing shift turnover reports and customer checklists associated with the assigned client environment, documenting incidents in the company's designated Incident Management tool, and escalating any events that may impact service levels. The analyst will also ensure that system IPL, maintenance, and backup processes are executed according to a predetermined schedule and established procedures. Moreover, the Senior Data Center Analyst is responsible for documenting all operational changes in the Change Management tool prior to implementation and ensuring that all changes are followed up with valid data. The role requires adherence to documented processing procedures for both internal and external clients, with an emphasis on suggesting updates and improvements to the internal Operations SharePoint documentation repository. The analyst must be able to organize tasks independently and provide hands-on support as required, while also being open to performing additional duties as assigned by Operations management.
