About the position

As a Microsoft Senior Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (SDIAT), you will play a crucial role in the management of inventory and asset operations within our data centers. This position involves prioritizing and assigning ticketed work to technicians, providing guidance on inbound and outbound logistics tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory balances. Responsibilities

• Run daily safety topic huddles and manage escalated task risks and reported issues.
• Train employees on safe and effective rack moving and ensure compliance with heavy-lifting equipment requirements.
• Prioritize and assign ticketed work to Data Center Inventory and Asset Technicians on the team.
• Leverage process knowledge and technical skills to resolve escalations and clear blocking issues.
• Provide technical support and task-specific guidance for inbound and outbound logistics tasks.
• Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment and schedule logistics for internal and external services.
• Communicate with customers regarding scheduling of inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including third-party warehouses and OEM vendors, to facilitate deliveries.
• Maintain a focus on optimizing resources and improving quality for customer service.
• Ensure teams maintain accurate inventory balances and resolve escalations in ticketing queues.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the RMA warranty process and ensure compliance with SLAs.
• Manage the schedule for Data Bearing Device (DBD) destruction and coordinate with third-party vendors as necessary.
• Create execution plans to improve satisfaction and performance within the organization.
• Model compliance and serve as a subject matter expert for less experienced team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma AND 2+ years of experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, inventory management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard business hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment for a large corporation or equivalent experience.
