About the position

As a Data Center Strategic Negotiator at Google, you will play a crucial role in securing infrastructure to support the company's growth. This position involves leveraging your extensive market knowledge and technical expertise to manage vendor relationships, oversee site development, and ensure compliance with third-party agreements. Your efforts will directly impact operational costs and contribute to the strategic expansion of Google's data center capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external technical teams to identify, define, and pursue new site expansion projects and initiatives necessary to meet Google's ongoing data center needs.
  • Implement strategy to enable ongoing infrastructure growth at existing sites.
  • Foster an open and inclusive workplace for your colleagues in day-to-day interactions and conversations.
  • Negotiate all types of contracts with all types of vendors within a domain.
  • Lead the development of strategic agreements with vendors, landowners, and key suppliers for space and utility services.
  • Develop and implement metrics for mapping, tracking, and lead a broad range of portfolio management issues regarding site/infrastructure development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 14 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
  • Experience working with colocations or data centers managed by third-party vendors.
  • Experience managing utility agreements and energy-related issues.
  • Experience in financial modeling and implementing clean energy initiatives.
  • Experience with power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, industrial-class electrical and cooling technology, or other related technical areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in real estate development, evaluation, acquisition, construction, and site selection for industrial-scale projects.
  • Experience in indirect taxes, economic development policy, infrastructure development, agreement drafting, and presentation development.
  • Experience with data center real estate markets.
  • Ability to think outside the box and propose commercially and technically creative solutions.
  • Ability to comfortably work in ambiguous, collaborative, and fast-paced environments.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $208,000-$296,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
