About the position

Dotdash Meredith is seeking a Senior Data Engineer, 2 to join the Data Operations team. This role focuses on building and optimizing data integration pipelines that support data lakes and warehouses, ensuring data quality and integrity. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to meet business requirements and enhance data processes, while also championing coding standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build new data integration pipelines and add new data to data lakes and warehouses.
• Work with internal team members and stakeholders to scope out business requirements and ensure data deliverables are met.
• Continuously improve data transformations and consumption processes for efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews and improve internal tools and build processes.
• Ensure the security and stability of infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment.
• Collaborate with Analytics engineers to maintain data integrity and quality.

Requirements

• Degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or data science.
• 5+ years of experience in building and optimizing data pipelines with Python.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, including window functions and nested subqueries.
• Experience with at least one cloud service platform (GCP and AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with data streaming architectures using technologies like Pub/Sub and Apache Kafka.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark or Beam.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
