About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at Bank of America is responsible for driving data engineering efforts to deliver enterprise-wide capabilities and complex data solutions. This role involves directing code design and delivery tasks associated with data integration, cleaning, transformation, and control in operational and analytical data systems. The position requires providing technical thought leadership and implementing complex data solutions across multiple systems and domains, while collaborating with project management to define outcomes and inform work structures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a range of analytics and automation solutions, including data extraction, analysis, reporting, and dashboard design.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Maintain, improve, clean, and manipulate large data for operational and analytics data systems.
  • Build complex processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management.
  • Define and build data pipelines to enable data-informed decision making.
  • Contribute to existing test suites including integration, regression, and performance, and lead triage of underlying causes for test issues.
  • Lead the identification of gaps in data management standards adherence and develop plans to close gaps.
  • Mentor Data Engineers in the delivery and release of continuous integration and continuous delivery events.
  • Utilize analytical skills to develop analytics and automated testing solutions using various tools and programming languages.
  • Support the design and execution of new analytics, automated testing tools, and models.
  • Coordinate, schedule, scope, and lead large, cross-functional analytics and automation activities.

Requirements

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, Alteryx, Python, Tableau or related tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytic skills to navigate systems, access data, reconcile numbers, and identify discrepancies and trends.
  • Proven track record of implementing automated solutions related to data and analytics.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with model development, machine learning, and data science.
  • Experience with DataRobot, Instabase, and UIPath.
