About the position

The Senior Data Engineer - Data Modeler position is a contract role focused on developing, validating, and maintaining various data models, including business, logical, and physical models. The role requires extensive experience in data modeling and database design, with a strong emphasis on enterprise data architecture. The position is remote but prefers candidates who can work in a hybrid model in specific locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL and data management activities, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, publish, and maintain business, logical, and physical data models.
• Create and maintain enterprise or corporate data models.
• Design application databases, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Hub, Delta Lake, Data Vault, and Data Analytics Marts.
• Utilize data modeling tools like Erwin, ER/Studio, or Archi.
• Establish data dictionaries, data models, and document technical requirements.
• Perform data migration, data profiling, and data mapping to target.
• Reverse engineer and define data models based on profiling of legacy or existing applications.
• Develop and enforce data modeling standards and procedures.
• Influence technology decisions for the platform at the enterprise level.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology.
• 5+ years' experience in developing, validating, publishing, and maintaining business, logical, and physical data models.
• 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining enterprise or corporate data models.
• 5+ years of experience designing application databases and data warehouses.
• 5+ years of experience with 3NF, BPMN, data vault, and dimensional modeling.
• 5+ years of strong SQL experience.
• 2+ years of development or DBA experience in RDBMS systems.
• Experience with SAP ECC and Salesforce data models.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ITSM and Agile methodologies.
