About the position

The Senior Data Engineer will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Mobility team, focusing on data modeling and management to solve complex business problems. This position involves designing, building, testing, and maintaining data solutions that support various business processes and analytics needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, particularly with Databricks and Teradata, and will work collaboratively to develop new data pipelines while ensuring security and compliance in all data-related decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Data Management and represent the Data Engineering department on complex assignments.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain enablers of business processes, focusing on medium to high complexity applications.
  • Collaborate with others to develop new data pipelines in a data-first mindset.
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytic data requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise for planning, analysis, design, implementation, and control of the organization's data.
  • Handle complex data management initiatives involving multiple disciplines and business groups.
  • Consult with client groups to provide solutions and implement data architecture and management strategies.
  • Translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
  • Interact closely with business partners, stakeholders, and developers to understand system requirements and design data models.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Strong Data Analysis and Data Modeling skills.
  • Expertise with Power Designer/Erwin Data Modeling tool for physical data models.
  • Databricks table design expertise and familiarity with Teradata DDL.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Model design.
  • 3+ years of experience writing and tuning complex SQLs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in Data Software Engineering, DSE Python, and AWS Databricks.
  • Solid experience with business intelligence and data warehousing technologies.
  • Expertise with Big Data technologies and Analytics Environments.
  • Experience with Azure Solutions.
  • Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with Big Data solutions and no SQL DBMSs.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other Public Cloud environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure platform technologies like Databricks, Event Hub, Data Factory, etc.
  • Prior experience with EHI IT rental or vehicle domain knowledge.
  • Experience with configuration management and build automation tools like Git/Jenkins.
  • Experience with API development.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
