About the position

The Senior Data Engineer/Database Developer role at Rose International involves designing, implementing, and overseeing ETL processes, primarily using Oracle PL/SQL and Snowflake. This position requires strong database development skills, particularly in the financial or insurance domain, and the ability to migrate data assets to cloud environments. The role is hybrid and temporary, with a focus on data integration and troubleshooting complex ETL processes.

Responsibilities

• Create, troubleshoot, and enhance complex ETL processes using Oracle PL/SQL code packages.
• Lead and operate in a cloud environment involving AWS and Snowflake, migrating data assets to the cloud.
• Integrate and experience in distributed data systems, effectively linking, transforming, and transferring data between multiple applications.
• Formulate logical statements of business problems and devise, test, and implement efficient application program solutions.
• Analyze existing systems and programming logic to improve machine operations and identify difficulties, revising logic and procedures as necessary.
• Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending the most efficient and cost-effective systems design.
• Support and respond quickly to production issues and requirements clarifications.
• Coordinate between multiple disciplines such as Architects, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and Developers for technical clarity leading to business solution implementation.
• Oversee quality and completeness of technical specifications, solution designs, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 6-8 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
• 3-5 years of experience with Unix/Linux Scripting.
• 1-2 years of experience with Snowflake.
• 6+ years of strong Database Developer experience using Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures, packages, functions, querying, testing, and deploying.
• 1-3 years of experience migrating assets to cloud environments (AWS and Snowflake).
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, manipulation, and development.
• 1+ years of experience in the insurance or investment industry.
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Oracle, Unix/Linux Shell scripting, Autosys scheduling tool, Sub Version, and Github/Jenkins (CI/CD) version control tools.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse applications in the financial/insurance domain.
• Knowledge of Data Modeling and Database design.
