About the position

The Senior Data Engineer for Growth Marketing at Rippling will play a crucial role in designing and developing data pipelines and services that facilitate data-driven decision-making across various departments. This position involves collaboration with stakeholders from Data Science, Marketing, BizOps, RevOps, Finance, and other data teams to drive projects forward while mentoring junior team members. The engineer will be responsible for building custom data pipelines, managing marketing and sales data platforms, and ensuring the integrity and performance of data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and scale data pipelines for ingesting data from internal databases and third-party tools into the data warehouse.
  • Build custom data pipelines to ingest data from third-party data sources for marketing and data science teams using Airflow and AWS resources.
  • Create custom transformations and derived datasets to support audience segmentation, analytics, and data science initiatives.
  • Own the marketing and sales data platform, defining key datasets and schemas, and building tools for easy data access.
  • Monitor and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to uphold internal service level agreements (SLAs).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data and software engineering.
  • Expertise in writing complex data transformations in SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including custom ETL integrations and data infrastructure (SCD, CDC, Snapshots, indexing, partitioning).
  • Experience in analytics, dimensional modeling, and ETL optimization is preferred.
  • BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or Mathematics is preferred.
