About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at Data Ideology is responsible for developing production-ready data models by integrating multiple data sources. This role requires collaboration with both business and technical teams to understand business strategies and objectives, ensuring that business requirements are met throughout the data and analytics lifecycle. The position emphasizes the importance of data warehousing, architecture, and best practices in ETL processes.

Responsibilities

• Collect and understand business requirements and translate them into an actionable data warehouse plan.
• Identify solutions leveraging multi-dimensional and tabular design patterns.
• Work within the SDLC framework across multiple environments, understanding the complexities of data warehouse development.
• Define and implement best practices for database design and ETL processes.
• Direct the work of others in ETL development, optimizing and scheduling ETL/ELT processes.

Requirements

• Proven understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Architecture, and Business Intelligence (BI).
• Experience with data pipelines and architecture/engineering.
• Knowledge of modern applications and data platforms.
• Experience in cloud-based project implementation.
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Informatica, and Snowflake (preferred).
• Experience in Python or Java is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in BI/Data Warehousing.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms.
• 3+ years of experience in ETL processes.
• 3+ years of experience in SQL.
• Experience in Data Modeling and Data Vault Modeling.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.
• Consulting experience is a plus.
