About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at IQVIA Institute plays a crucial role in enhancing the productivity of researchers and analysts by developing efficient and accurate datasets from various internal and external systems. This position involves collaboration with research directors and data scientists to address business needs and improve internal processes, ultimately contributing to the advancement of human health through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Work with institute research directors, data scientists, and researchers to prioritize solutions for business and information needs.
  • Participate in all stages of the data product development life cycle, from initial requirements gathering to production development.
  • Advise or lead the development, implementation, and validation of new process technologies, macros, and applications.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in internal processes related to model development and data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to transform prototypes into reusable modules for data science projects.
  • Create complex information links to integrate data from multiple sources with optimized data acquisition methods.
  • Design and conduct comprehensive documentation and testing of developed processes and code.
  • Oversee multiple projects from concept to completion in a self-directed and collaborative manner.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 7 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher-level programming languages such as SAS, Python, SQL, and ability to perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), data wrangling, and report generation.
  • Experience in creating dashboards on Power BI/Tableau platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to process scientific data.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical and clinical trial data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical programming and ability to identify data issues and implement solutions quickly.
