About the position

The Senior Data Engineer in Measurement Science at General Motors will be part of the Marketing Applied Sciences team, focusing on developing analytics-driven solutions to support business goals. This role involves building analytical data sets for Advanced Analytics projects, collaborating with researchers and data scientists, and driving the adoption of cloud-first technologies and industry-standard data engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the MAS team functions to develop data products for analytics solutions.
• Design and develop data products that comply with data privacy and security policies.
• Drive the adoption of cloud-first technologies and industry-standard Data Engineering practices.
• Automate new and existing data processes, eliminating manual efforts to gather and ingest data.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in Data Engineering and find opportunities for improvement.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions using modern hybrid cloud technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with experience analyzing large scale customer event data products.
• In-depth knowledge of industry-standard Data Engineering practices including data privacy & security, ETL/ELT, and data quality assurance.
• Expert programming skills in Azure, Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, and GitHub.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
