About the position
The Senior Data Engineer at Experian is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting ETL data pipeline solutions within the AWS environment. This role involves building a semantic layer, collaborating with engineering teams, and supporting a data warehouse while processing both structured and unstructured data. The position requires effective communication with business and technical teams to achieve project goals and deliver cross-functional reporting solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support ETL data pipeline solutions in the AWS environment.
- Build a semantic layer by developing ETL and virtualized views.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to discover and utilize new data.
- Support the data warehouse and implement solutions using Python for data processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in existing ETL processes written in SQL.
- Create report specifications and process documentation for data deliverables.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to achieve project goals.
- Communicate with partners and technical teams to collect requirements and provide technical designs.
- Provide engineering support to the customer support team in an Agile environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an ETL Data Engineer with intermediate SQL knowledge.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Python scripting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with AWS data ecosystem (Redshift, EMR, S3, MWAA, etc.).
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and partners.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Tableau.
- Experience with DBT.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or equivalent tools (AWS MWAA) for data pipeline orchestration.
- Hands-on experience building Python API-based data pipelines.
