About the position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (RDT&E) to support a DIA Analytic Innovations Office Advanced Analytics & Product Evaluation contract. This position is based in Washington, D.C. All employees will start in the Washington D.C office but upon request and with customer approval may be allowed to work from Reston VA, Quantico VA, or College Park MD. The role involves supporting defense analytical requirements through enhanced scientific and engineering research, capability and limitation analysis, and reverse engineering analysis and characterizations. The engineer will conduct facility and vulnerability assessments, focusing on complex foreign electronic systems, subsystems, facilities, and equipment. The analysis will cover various areas including electric power, microelectronics, electronic hardware, circuits, sensors, guidance and control, signals, and electromagnetic systems, as well as electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) technologies associated with current and projected electronic systems and subsystems. In addition to analysis, the Senior Data Engineer will design, implement, and operate data management systems tailored to intelligence needs. This includes designing data storage, access, integration, and management systems for different data regimes and digital systems. The engineer will collaborate with data users to determine, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems. Planning, designing, and optimizing data throughput and query performance will also be key responsibilities. The role requires participation in the selection of backend database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and Graph Database, including their configuration and utilization, as well as optimizing the full data pipeline infrastructure to support the content, volume, ETL, and periodicity of data to ensure responsiveness for intended queries and analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Supports defense analytical requirements with enhanced scientific/engineering research, capability/limitation analysis, and reverse engineering analysis/characterizations.

  • Emphasizes areas pertaining to electric power, microelectronics, electronic hardware, circuits, sensors, guidance and control, signals, electromagnetic, electro-optical (EO)/infrared (IR) technologies.
  • Designs, implements, and operates data management systems for intelligence needs.
  • Designs data storage, access, use, integration, and management for different data regimes and digital systems.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
  • Must be able to obtain a polygraph.
  • Masters degree preferred and 12 years of related experience in data analytics or engineering.
