We are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer who will play a pivotal role in driving these initiatives forward. In this role, you will be involved in projects that support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), focusing on the development of a next-generation analytics and reporting system that has a direct impact on healthcare quality. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our data engineering processes are robust, efficient, and aligned with the needs of our clients. You will work with various technologies and methodologies to enhance our data capabilities and contribute to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, run, and test Airflow DAGs and/or Spark Applications interacting with Postgres, Redshift, Oracle databases
  • Identify defects in the code and/or data
  • Develop and run DBT tests
  • Develop and run Automated Testing Scripts
  • Generate data engineering test plans
  • Understand and test complex Data Models
  • Implement/modify Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Validate CSV output report files, both manually and through Python automation integrated in Jenkins
  • Report validation results, Data Model output, and Automation reporting
  • Collaborate closely with development and business teams on the refinement, implementation, and execution of data items

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience as a data engineer, software developer, or tech lead
  • 2 years experience in SQL and Python code language
  • Candidate must reside in the United States and be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance; must have resided in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years experience in Database testing (DBT), Postgres, Redshift database, SQL, Apache Airflow DAG, Apache Spark, Python code language, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Jenkins (CI/CD), Git and GitHub for version control and management, Alembic database migration tool
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Cloud Practitioner, Developer, Solution Architect, Data Analytics, or Database)
  • Strong understanding of relational database and data warehousing concepts (e.g., OLAP, dimensional modeling)
  • Prior experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid data
  • Experience with one or more BI tools, such as Superset, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker, etc.
  • Prior experience working remotely full-time
  • Federal Government contracting work experience.
