As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of a diverse and talented team that creates and delivers powerful technology solutions for our customers and employees across the world. This position is open to candidates who wish to work from home (WFH), and team members who choose virtual work should have an adequate space to serve as their home office. In this role, you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge to solve business problems and serve as a subject matter expert in Data Management. You will design, build, test, and maintain enablers of business processes, focusing on medium to high complexity, multiple large application business processes, and business relationships. You will collaborate with others to develop new data pipelines and work in a data-first mindset, designing the conceptual, logical, and physical data models necessary to support analytic data requirements for various streaming and business intelligence needs. Your expertise in Databricks table designs and Teradata experience in creating physical data models will be crucial in this role. You will also protect our customers, employees, and brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions, ensuring that security policy and procedure requirements are met, and continuously identifying opportunities for improving security.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain enablers of business processes, including technology and process solutions.
  • Collaborate with others to develop new data pipelines.
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support analytic data requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise for planning, analysis, design, implementation, and control of the organization's data.
  • Handle complex data management initiatives involving multiple disciplines and business groups.
  • Consult with client groups to provide solutions and implement data architecture and management strategies.
  • Translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
  • Interact closely with business partners, stakeholders, and developers to understand system requirements and architect data models.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience in Data Model design.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience writing and tuning complex SQLs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with IT teams and business representatives.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and work independently with direction.
  • Strong Data Analysis and Data Modeling skills.
  • Expertise in Databricks table design and familiarity with Teradata DDL.
  • Experience with Power Designer/Erwin Data Modeling tool for developing physical data models.
  • Experience in Data Software Engineering, DSE Python, and AWS Databricks.
  • Solid experience with business intelligence and data warehousing development technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Big Data solutions and no SQL DBMSs.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other Public Cloud environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure platform technologies like Databricks applications, Event Hub, Data Factory, etc.
  • Prior experience with EHI IT rental or vehicle domain knowledge.
  • Experience with configuration management and build automation capabilities such as Git/Jenkins.
  • Experience with API development.
  • Knowledge and working experience with Agile methodologies.
