About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at Centene Corporation is responsible for developing and operationalizing data pipelines to enhance data availability for reporting and advanced analytics. This role involves engaging with DevSecOps engineers for continuous integration and deployment, guiding the design and implementation of complex data management procedures, and ensuring the quality of technical solutions as data moves across various environments. The position also focuses on real-time processing applications and improving data reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and operationalizes data pipelines for data consumption.
  • Engages with DevSecOps Engineer during continuous integration and deployment.
  • Guides the design and implementation of complex data management procedures.
  • Provides guidance to data engineers in the design, development, and testing of data structures.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains real-time processing applications and data pipelines.
  • Ensures quality of technical solutions as data moves across Centene's environments.
  • Provides senior level knowledge into the changing data environment and drives the team toward viable solutions.
  • Develops, constructs, tests, and maintains architectures using advanced programming languages and tools.
  • Drives improvements in data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
  • 4 - 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Servers and SQL programming language.
  • Experience with SSIS.
  • Experience with diagnosing system issues and providing quality assurance testing.
  • Experience with Data Manipulation and Data Mining.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate knowledge in area of specialty.
  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities.
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent judgment.
