About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at KUBRA will be responsible for designing and maintaining data infrastructure and ETL processes, collaborating with the Data Analytics team to provide BI analysis. This hybrid role involves working with cloud technologies, optimizing data architectures, and ensuring data consistency and accuracy across various sources.

Responsibilities

• Build, monitor, and maintain ETL processes in AWS and Databricks.
• Develop and optimize scalable, high-performance data architectures (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses).
• Integrate data from diverse sources (APIs, databases, third-party systems) into unified formats for analysis.
• Design and implement dimensional models, including fact and dimension tables, utilizing star and snowflake schemas.
• Continuously optimize query performance, storage solutions, and data workflows.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for data processes, workflows, and system configurations.
• Travel to visit clients throughout North America for design sessions and technical presentations.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Analytics.
• 5-7 years of cloud experience on any of the major cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Spark, Kafka, or similar tools (preferably Databricks/Confluent).
• Good knowledge of AWS stack such as S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda.
• Experience working with modern data lake formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• Strong experience in optimizing Databricks and AWS workflows.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and managing relational databases.
