About the position

Equifax is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Entity Resolution team within the Global Data & Analytics Center of Excellence. This role requires a unique blend of engineering and statistical skills to manage and derive insights from diverse data sources. The ideal candidate will develop data pipelines, implement data quality models, and mentor junior engineers, all while working in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of data characteristics and supply patterns to develop rules and tracking processes for data quality models.
• Prepare data for analytical use by building data pipelines from multiple sources and systems.
• Integrate, consolidate, cleanse, and structure data for client solutions.
• Design, create, and interpret large and complex datasets.
• Stay updated with trends in GCP and related technologies, proposing and evaluating new solutions.
• Implement best practices for data management, maintenance, reporting, and security.
• Develop and implement data quality checks and troubleshoot data anomalies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
• Review data analysis performed by junior data engineers.

Requirements

• BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline; Master's Degree strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or related role.
• Advanced skills in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and NoSQL; intermediate experience with scripting languages.
• Intermediate understanding and working experience with Google Cloud Platforms, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience building and maintaining moderately-complex data pipelines and troubleshooting issues.
• Experience designing and implementing moderately complex data models and optimizing performance.
• Demonstrates advanced Git usage and CI/CD integration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of credit bureau data and familiarity with laws like FCRA, GLBA, and GDPR.
• Associate/Intermediate Cloud and/or SQL certification from GCP, DataCamp, Coursera, Microsoft, AWS, etc.
• Experience or advanced degree focused on Entity Resolution concepts or related projects.
• Experience in Data Visualization and storytelling.
• Experience collaborating with international teams.
• Hands-on code development experience with strong coding ethics.
