The Senior Data Engineer position is a critical role within the IT and Data ERP team, located in Tampa, Florida. This contract position is designed for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Data Strategy, Architecture, and Engineering, particularly in the realm of Enterprise Data Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud-hosted solutions, data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse models. This role requires a minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience, ideally 20+, in data warehousing and data engineering, with a proven track record of large-scale implementation success stories. In this role, the candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of HR Data Engineering, the Chief Data Officer, and their direct reports, including Engineering Managers. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing the client's Data Transformation roadmap and providing valuable feedback and suggestions. The position demands a high level of technical expertise, particularly in core technical skills such as cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), data warehousing solutions (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), and data lakes (Hadoop, Spark, Presto). The Senior Data Engineer will also be tasked with developing and executing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with business objectives, collaborating with stakeholders to identify data requirements and opportunities, and designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures. The role includes overseeing the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring data quality and compliance, and leading the implementation of data virtualization solutions. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing data governance policies and mentoring junior data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team.
