About the position

As a key member of the Data Platform team at Fox Corporation, you will play a crucial role in envisioning, implementing, and promoting new features, pipelines, and platforms that deliver not just data, but valuable insights. This position involves assessing the most impactful data needs across the business and leading efforts to identify automated solutions that enhance data usability. You will collaborate with various teams to empower others with data-driven knowledge and actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Execute FOX Data platform engineering roadmap aligning with product, engineering, platform, and data science teams.
• Manage and elevate team members to maximize their potential and foster career growth.
• Build partnerships with cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration with engineering, product, data science, and scrum masters.
• Identify data requirements for FOX business problems and implement data observability, ensuring quality, ETL completeness, and data availability with proactive alerting solutions.
• Develop data products, features, tools, and frameworks that empower data engineering and analytics teams across FOX.

Requirements

• A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with professional experience in a data platform team or similar role.
• Expert knowledge of AWS Analytical Tech stack and services like Glue, Athena, and Lake Formation.
• Excellent knowledge and expertise with SQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, and relational & multi-dimensional databases.
• Strong understanding of AWS security services including KMS, parameter stores, and secret managers.
• Strong experience with real-time frameworks, including collection and processing of real-time data using Kinesis Data Streams, KDA, and Firehoses.
• Strong understanding of Kinesis/Glue frameworks and Spark Streaming for building real-time analytics.
• Extensive experience in Python or similar scripting languages to build engineering frameworks.
• Experience in CI/CD frameworks, preferably GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control or orchestration.
• Expert knowledge of infrastructure as code services including Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Expert knowledge of Blue/Green Deployment for Lambda and Microservices.
• Expert knowledge of Elastic Containers and Elastic Container Services.
• Strong experience with distributed data architectures and big data processing technologies (Spark, EMR, Hadoop, Hive).
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready code.
• Expert understanding of the agile software development life cycle.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Snowflake and Google BigQuery is a big plus.
• Experience with Delta Lake technologies and Data Mesh Architecture is a plus.
• Certifications in Amazon Web Services are a huge plus.
