About the position

The Senior Data Engineer at Capgemini is responsible for designing and implementing data solutions that enable organizations to leverage technology for better decision-making. This role involves building automated data pipelines, ensuring data security, and integrating various data sources to create a resilient and efficient data architecture. The position requires a strong foundation in programming and database management, along with the ability to solve complex problems and work collaboratively in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Break down complex problems using appropriate design patterns and best practices.
  • Build automated pipelines that integrate and transport software securely from conception to production.
  • Create real-time monitoring and automation software for resilient platform operations.
  • Design and implement data pipelines to ingest data from various sources including cloud storage and streaming platforms.
  • Review client application configuration and architecture to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support and maintain in-house applications, ensuring they meet user requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Oracle PLSQL programming and other RDBMS.
  • Proficiency in Snowflake, Snowpipe, Python scripting, Kafka Stream, Kafka Connectors, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for Distributed Analytics and Applications.
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain applications on Oracle.
  • Experience with data modeling and ensuring data security.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and Unix scripting.
  • Understanding of indexing, querying, and normalization in relational databases.
  • Experience working in Agile structures (Scrum or Kanban) with project management tools like Jira and BitBucket.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2 and S3.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins and core CloudFormation templates.
