About The Position

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer or Analyst to join our Data Platform and Analytics Engineering (DPaAS) team within the Finance Technology group. This role is pivotal in providing functional expertise and guidance for key data projects within DPaAS. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data analysis, design, and architecture, particularly in supporting data engineering functions. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for defining functional requirements for new feature development, aimed at building out new or enhancing existing data platform services in AWS Redshift and Oracle cloud environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to articulate and influence the technical direction of projects. This includes a combination of systems and technology experience, along with strong thought leadership to make balanced functional design decisions that deliver key enabling features to support major initiatives across the domain. The role can be performed from Lafayette, LA (preferred), Bloomfield, CT, or Denver, CO in a hybrid model. In this position, you will partner with internal clients and external vendors in functional and technical design, guiding the development of the Data Analytics platform. You will gather and assess requirements, assist in translating them into optimal analytical solutions, and facilitate client conversations through prototyping to gather requirements on KPIs and reporting needs. Your responsibilities will also include creating source-to-target data lineage mapping documents, providing direction and guidance on data mapping, and ensuring alignment between functional and technical design documents. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing ad-hoc reports and queries, supporting data reconciliation, and performing extensive data analysis and mining to summarize results and insights comprehensively.
