About the position

As a Senior Data Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on innovating and optimizing data pipeline architecture. This role involves building and maintaining sophisticated data pipelines that utilize advanced AWS services, directly impacting auto dealerships across the US. You will leverage your expertise in Python and cloud-based data solutions to enhance analytics capabilities and transform raw data into valuable business intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Enterprise Level scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant streaming data platforms.
• Build Distributed Streaming Data Pipelines and Analytics Data Stores using frameworks like Flink and Spark Streaming.
• Develop data pipelines using big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Snowflake.
• Collaborate in an agile environment focusing on CI/CD and application resiliency standards.
• Stay updated on tech trends and mentor other engineers in the community.
• Work with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
• Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 3 years of experience in application development
• At least 1 year of experience in big data technologies

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
• 2+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• 3+ years experience with Distributed data computing tools (Kafka, Spark, Flink)
• 2+ years experience working on Real Time data and streaming applications
• 2+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
• 2+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
• 3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and Shell Scripting
• 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
