About the position

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal in developing automated data transformation solutions specifically tailored to healthcare data. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for utilizing healthcare data to meet various administrative needs and goals, ensuring that the data is not only accurate but also accessible for decision-making processes. A deep understanding of data storage and sharing methods is essential, as the engineer will develop ETL patterns that optimize data warehouse hardware resources, facilitating timely business results. In this position, the Senior Data Engineer will investigate data to identify patterns and trends, which will aid in understanding healthcare business operations. The role requires the ability to pull and integrate data from disparate sources, converting complex data into easily understandable information. Familiarity with ETL frameworks and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) systems is crucial, as is development experience in Azure or other cloud-based platforms. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent analytical and communication skills, demonstrating outstanding organizational and problem-solving aptitude. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with various data sources for transformation tasks, ensuring that the data is utilized effectively to support healthcare operations and systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare.
  • 3+ years of experience in a data warehouse/data management development role.
  • Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL.
  • 3+ years of experience using SSIS for data warehouse development.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SQL database operations, performance tuning, script/package building, deployment methodologies, and source control tools.
  • Knowledge of agile/scrum framework processes and tools.
  • Development experience with BI or data visualization tools.
  • Experience using a code repository for version control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with on-prem to cloud migration.
  • Knowledge of agile/scrum framework processes and tools.

  • Master's degree advantageous.
