About the position

The Senior Data Governance Analyst at Northwest Bank plays a crucial role in the Data Governance Program, focusing on the development, deployment, and maintenance of data governance processes. This position is responsible for managing the flow of data, ensuring its integrity, efficiency, and availability, while implementing appropriate technical and administrative controls. The analyst will lead initiatives to enhance data quality and compliance with governance policies, working closely with various teams to ensure effective data management across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, application, and deployment of data policies and processes.
  • Ensure data quality guidance is applied throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of functionalities within Data Governance tools.
  • Curate operational documentation for Data Governance Tools and Technologies.
  • Ensure compliance of data assets with governance policies and standards.
  • Lead the design and maintenance of an end-to-end data lifecycle management approach.
  • Apply the data governance framework to improve data quality and adherence to strategy.
  • Translate business rules to data quality rules and implement them in data profiling processes.
  • Plan and execute data improvement efforts in a matrixed environment.
  • Investigate data quality issues and develop remediation solutions.
  • Facilitate Data Working Group sessions to document critical data assets and their uses.
  • Monitor data quality processes and manage remediation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain program-level metrics and reporting for oversight bodies.
  • Lead product demonstrations of Data Governance tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to refine training content for the Data Governance Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Informatics, or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in data governance or quality management, information architecture, and governance design.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, focusing on bank operations and regulatory environments.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and solve problems collaboratively.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and derive actionable plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large organization.
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management technology and processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview and data quality technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud and data management trends, including open source projects and methodologies.
