The Senior Data Governance Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of shared data assets within the organization. This position involves conducting effective risk and control assessments of critical business processes and reporting mechanisms surrounding data. The analyst will document and recommend key controls that align with the Internal Controls Management Policy (ICMP). The role is focused on optimizing data risk assessment (DRA), risk and control self-assessment (RCA), data lineage, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at simplifying and standardizing the documentation of data risks and controls. In this position, the Senior Data Governance Analyst will support various data management initiatives, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of shared data assets and reporting data. This will be achieved through effective risk and control assessments and the documentation of key controls that adhere to the Internal Controls Management Standard for the U.S. Region. The analyst will review Critical Data Element (CDE) Memos, data lineage, and control information at both the data element and system level for critical reports, key business processes, and data domain CDEs. Additionally, the analyst will maintain and enhance the data controls framework for Finance, Risk, and other data domains. This includes establishing criteria for determining key controls, developing standardized controls to mitigate common risks, and documenting a minimum set of complementary controls to ensure comprehensive data risk coverage and high degrees of data integrity. The role also involves reviewing existing data risks and controls, performing root cause analysis to identify control gaps or redundancies, and monitoring the output of key controls, exception reporting, and issues management to ensure that data lineage and control assessments are up to date. The Senior Data Governance Analyst will develop and maintain working relationships with data domain stewards, critical business process owners, and business line stakeholders across RBC Bank, who are accountable for or beneficiaries of effective key controls. This collaborative approach is essential for fostering a culture of data governance and ensuring that data management practices are aligned with organizational goals.
