About the position

The Senior Data Governance Analyst at Northwest Bank plays a crucial role in the Data Governance Program, focusing on the development, deployment, and maintenance of data governance processes. This position ensures the integrity, efficiency, and availability of critical data assets while implementing appropriate technical and administrative controls. The analyst will lead initiatives to enhance data quality and compliance with governance policies across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, application, and deployment of data policies and processes, ensuring enforcement throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of functionalities within Data Governance tools and technologies.
  • Curate operational documentation to support the usage of Data Governance Tools and Technologies across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance of all data assets with governance policies and standards.
  • Lead the design and support of an end-to-end data lifecycle management approach.
  • Apply the data governance framework, focusing on continuous improvement of data quality.
  • Translate business rules into data quality rules and implement them within data profiling processes.
  • Investigate data quality issues and develop solutions for remediation.
  • Facilitate Data Working Group sessions to document critical data assets and their uses.
  • Monitor data quality processes, identify issues, and manage remediation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain program-level metrics and reporting for oversight bodies.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to showcase Data Governance tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to develop training content for the Data Governance Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Informatics, or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in data governance or quality management, information architecture, and governance design and implementation.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, focusing on bank operations and regulatory environments.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and participate in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to actively listen and facilitate open exchanges of ideas.
  • Proficient in establishing action plans and monitoring work progress.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization.
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management technology landscape and design principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview and other data quality technologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and derive actionable plans.
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • Hands-on operational management and change management experience.
