The Senior Data Governance Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining and operationalizing the Data Governance Framework within the organization. The primary responsibility of the Senior Data Governance Analyst is to establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards that enable the organization to leverage its data assets securely, ethically, and efficiently. This role requires a deep understanding of data management practices, particularly in an Azure cloud environment, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity effectively. In this role, the Senior Data Governance Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to refine data governance policies and procedures for both Azure cloud and on-premises data platforms. This collaboration is essential to ensure the security, privacy, and integrity of the organization’s data assets. The analyst will also lead the implementation of data governance tools and technologies that support data management initiatives and facilitate effective decision-making across the organization. Another key responsibility includes establishing and enforcing standards for data quality, ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and consistent. The analyst will identify data quality issues, implement corrective measures, and establish mechanisms for ongoing data quality improvement. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining data classification schemes to categorize data according to its sensitivity, criticality, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. The Senior Data Governance Analyst will oversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories, track data lineage, and define metadata standards. They will also manage the entire lifecycle of data, from creation to archival or disposal, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the analyst will ensure that data governance practices comply with relevant data privacy and security regulations, conduct risk assessments, and support compliance audits. Performance monitoring and reporting are also critical aspects of this role. The analyst will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and prepare reports for stakeholders that demonstrate compliance and improvements in data management practices. Finally, the Senior Data Governance Analyst will provide training and education programs to raise awareness about data governance principles and practices among employees, supporting the adoption of data governance best practices throughout the organization.
