About the position

The Senior Data Governance Specialist will lead data governance initiatives within assigned data domains, focusing on data ownership, stewardship, and quality. This role involves mentoring junior staff, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving strategic data governance efforts to ensure data integrity across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data governance efforts within assigned data domains.
  • Apply advanced Data Ownership and Stewardship structures.
  • Proactively identify and resolve complex data quality issues.
  • Oversee the enrichment of the data catalog with comprehensive domain and system knowledge.
  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Drive strategic data governance initiatives to support business goals.
  • Serve as the Data Governance Representative for Data Domain and lead workgroup meetings.
  • Provide data analysis through development of code for data domain related needs.
  • Lead the curation of data catalog for data domain.
  • Maintain master data for all important data areas of the organization.
  • Lead the development, execution, maintenance, and troubleshooting of scripts and reports using SQL, Microsoft Excel, or other analytics tools.
  • Evaluate and remediate data quality issues.
  • Curate the data catalog with data domains and systems related definitions and knowledge.
  • Identify rules to enhance data quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience.
  • Great knowledge of data governance principles.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data verification, and data management.
  • Experience with complex data profiling and analysis.
  • Experience with Data Governance processes and roles.
  • Experience with Master Data Management.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Benefits

  • Full-Time Salary Range: $92,684.80 - $154,460.80
