About the position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Lead to oversee and manage the data migration processes for our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data management, migration strategies, and data warehousing. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless transition of data from legacy systems to our state-of-the-art EDW, contributing to the organization's data-driven decision-making capabilities. In this position, you will lead the data migration project from planning to execution, ensuring timely and accurate data transfer. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, business analysts, and IT professionals, to define migration requirements and strategies. Your responsibilities will include developing detailed data migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. You will also identify and document data sources, data mapping, and transformation rules. As a Senior Data Migration Lead, you will oversee the data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data integrity and quality. You will monitor migration progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. Establishing and enforcing data quality standards and best practices will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will conduct data validation and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and completeness post-migration. Regular updates to stakeholders on migration progress, challenges, and milestones will be essential. You will also provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes, and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the data migration framework. Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data management and warehousing will be crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data management, with a focus on data migration and data warehousing.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale data migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and database design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., SAP BW, HANA, and Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
  • Certification in data management or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
