About the position

The Senior Data Migration Analyst position at First Derivative involves a critical role in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting high-performance trading data storage systems and complex financial software products for Fortune 500 clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting all data from legacy platforms to ensure the continued success and development of client contracts. This includes cleansing US counterparty data and designing a process to facilitate mapping and hierarchical order between legacy and the new system. The role requires a deep understanding of Capital Market domains, including Daycount and Dayroll Conventions, Market Data, Bonds, Credit Ratings, Credit Risk, Options, Interest Rate Swaps, Exchanges, Futures, Forward FX, Market Risk, and PRMIA I - IV. In addition to data migration tasks, the analyst will review and challenge existing Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes. They will also design and implement a tool that incorporates mapping, order, and rules to migrate legacy data onto the new platform effectively. The position requires creating detailed business requirements while liaising between multiple vendors and business units to ensure smooth implementation of the workflow. The analyst will focus on improving migration service delivery and quality, utilizing their unique knowledge of Legacy Platforms and the technical requirements necessary to deliver these contracts to the required standard. Technical skills in Advanced VBA, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX, C++, Stata, and Python are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, implementing, and supporting high-performance trading data storage systems and complex financial software products.
  • Extracting all data from legacy platforms to ensure the continued success and development of client contracts.
  • Cleansing US counterparty data and designing a process to facilitate mapping and hierarchical order between legacy and the new system.
  • Working within Capital Market domains including Daycount and Dayroll Conventions, Market Data, Bonds, Credit Ratings, Credit Risk, Options, Interest Rate Swaps, Exchanges, Futures, Forward FX, Market Risk, and PRMIA I - IV.
  • Reviewing and challenging existing Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related STEM degree.
  • Two years of experience in the job offered or related position in the Capital Markets field.
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting high-performance trading data storage systems and complex financial software products for Fortune 500 clients.
  • Experience working within Capital Market domains including Daycount and Dayroll Conventions, Market Data, Bonds, Credit Ratings, Credit Risk, Options, Interest Rate Swaps, Exchanges, Futures, Forward FX, Market Risk, and PRMIA I - IV.
  • Experience reviewing and challenging existing Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
  • Unique knowledge of Legacy Platforms.
