About the position

The Senior Data Migration Developer at BluePearl Pet Hospital is responsible for leading data migration efforts and pipeline creation within the Azure ecosystem. This role involves designing and implementing data migration solutions, managing ETL pipelines, and ensuring data quality and performance across systems. The position requires collaboration with various teams and mentorship of junior members, all while maintaining a focus on best practices in data migration and integration.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design and implementation of data migration solutions within the Azure ecosystem, leveraging Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Azure Fabric.
• Creates and manages the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading, using Azure Data Factory and Synapse for data orchestration.
• Establishes and promotes best practices for data migration and integration processes across all Azure services.
• Designs and builds Application Programming Interface (API) integrations, connecting external data sources and creating new integrations as needed.
• Utilizes Power BI and other power platform tools for data visualization and business intelligence solutions.
• Manages Azure Datalake and works with Azure SQL, ensuring data quality, performance, and consistency across all systems.
• Utilizes Git Enterprise for code versioning, collaboration, and documentation across development teams.
• Collaborates with data engineers, BI developers, and integration teams, and provides mentorship to junior team members on best practices and innovation.
• Maintains proficiency in Python and MS SQL.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
• 7+ years of relevant experience required.
• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Works under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, prioritization of work, and problem-solving skills.
• Requires in-depth skills and knowledge of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization.
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.
